Focus mostly on motivation,

because to me, in all languagelearning, motivation is by far the

biggest factor. So you have to find areason to want to learn this

language.

FIRST:

German is not as difficult for anEnglish speaker as Russian, Chinese,

Japanese, etc..., because it’s a relatedlanguage.

So, what are thechallenges of German?

Pronunciation?Well, it’s not as

hard as youthink.

You don’t have to pronouncewith a guttural...

'R'

You can pronounce with arolled

'R'which they do in the south of

Germany.

The vowels are notsuch a big problem.

THE SPELLING ISCONSISTENT,BUT IT’S

DIFFERENTFROM WHAT

WE’RE USED TOIN ENGLISH.

When learningGerman, you justhave to get used towhat the lettersrepresent.

What may be distracting inGerman, is all of the nouns

are

CAPITALIZED

This could be an issue at first. But, any language when you start learning it, & reading it will seem...

A LITTLE UNCLEAR.

You can alwaysoccasionallyrefer to agrammar

reference bookto help younotice.

Don’t totally focus on ONEspecific aspect of the language.

Get involved in more of the vocabulary and more of the language!

Exposing yourself to it and just talk

withoutworrying about it.
