The Scary Truth About Fear

Franklin D. Roosevelt said “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

And let me tell you something, when I first became exposed to the information I’m about to share with you in this short post, I was literally sitting in front of my computer screen with my

eyes wide open and my jaw dropped because…

Well, you’ll find out soon…

What’s really scary is how we acquire fear….

Notice the word acquire.

You’re not born with most of your fears. The only 2 fears that you’re born with is the fear of falling

and the fear of noise.

That’s it.

Everything else you either acquire from other people or the meaning you give to your life

experiences.

This story tells it all:

While conducting his research for putting together a philosophy of success, Napoleon Hill also

investigated the origins of fear.

So he went out looking for a nest of newly-hatched birds. He waited until the mother went away, and then he went up to see in the young

ones were afraid of him.

They weren’t afraid at all. They actually enjoyed his company!

In the meantime the mother was looking at him as if she wanted to rip his heart out!

So Mr. Hill went away and allowed the mother to come back and start jumping around and

screaming at her babies.

Then she went off looking for food again and Mr. Hill tried approaching the nest with the little birds

again…

And you know what?

They were all gone.

Every single one of them.

Hiding… in FEAR!

And the moral of the story goes…

We are told what to fear!

Just think about how your mommy treated you when you were a kid…

“Honey, don’t run so fast because you’ll hurt yourself.”

“Honey, don’t trust strangers.”

“Honey, listen to your teachers and get good grated or you’ll be a failure.”

“Honey, don’t do this, it’s too risky. Get a job like the rest of us.”

“Honey, don’t do that, what will people say?”

Now, your mom probably loved you and wanted the best for you – but still, you just don’t know

what you don’t know.

And the truth is, out of her own fear for you, she planted that fear into your mind.

Don’t blame your mom, she did the best with what she had.

Get rid of the fear…

…because it is the fear that’s the only thing standing between you and the live of your

dreams…

…the life on your terms…

…the life where you’re in charge of your destiny…

…the life where you decide what you want to do, when you want to do it, and how long you want to

do it…

You can live your fears or you can live your dreams but you can’t live both!

You’ll have to choose…

For me the choice was simple and obvious…

As I closed my eyes and drifted off into the future…

I saw myself standing on stages, winning trophies…

I saw myself starring in movies…

I saw myself inspiring people all over the world…

I saw myself travelling to New York, Dubai, New Zealand, Singapore, Bali, Hawaii, Fiji…

I saw myself in the company of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tony Robbins…

And I looked my fear in the eyes and said: “I’m going for it…. I’m making it happen… That’s it… PERIOD! And you’d better stay out of my

way.”

Now…

What about YOU?
