5 years ago, I broke up with my best friend of 30 years. We lived over 1000 miles apart so I was really excited she was coming to visit. I had just moved to a new house in San Antonio, so after she arrived, I gave her the grand tour f my new digs. When we stopped at the back door, I said, "Come on out to my garden so you can see my tomatoes." I actually detected a hint of a sneer as she replied, "Why would I want to look at your tomatoes? I don't even like tomatoes. And besides, it's SO hot out there."
