It used to be that musicians had no way to get mass distribution. That's what they needed labels for – now, if you can't get distribution, you're not trying too hard.

The Art business is in the beginning stages of the evolution that the music industry went through. Galleries have depended on being the tastemakers and curators of culture. Their business model is in trouble.
Every month I hear about a new online gallery or print sales venue starting up.

Wordpress isn't changing the Art world because of technology – it's changing it because it's part of the underlying movement of information on the Web.
It's an ecosystem that gatekeepers cannot maintain. It's an ecosystem of content curation, and the successful curators will be those who can show a track record of pointing to the best work and then getting out of the way.
