She had issues that existed since childhood and they seeped into every aspect of her adult life. As we worked together, she discovered how her relationship problems were rich in resources to help her overcome those lifelong problems. As a child, she had experienced abuse. As a result, she ended up using her relationships as a gauge to judge her own self-worth. In some ways, she was wired for choosing two husbands who abused her trust in the same ways her parents did. She and her husband were both pre-destined to have these relationship problems play out with each other. You CAN Have a Life of Peace and Pleasure in Your Relationship Emily found me in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and we charted course for her healing journey. Once Emily understood what had her choose the husbands and create a broken relationship, she was able to mend it. As she addressed her own issues relating to childhood trauma, her husband began to address his. The last time I heard from her she said, as a result of what she learned from relationship coaching, she now had a life she never dreamed possible, one of peace and pleasure. If Emily had not had the ‘perfect’ partner (her husband) to help her resolve the relationship with her parents, she would still be unhappy and in a broken relationship. She learned to work through the relationship problems so that she didn’t have to divorce again and search for another husband to help her meet those unmet needs from childhood. Relationship problems don’t have to end your marriage The truth is, your husband is perfect for you and you are perfect for him. It doesn’t mean that it will not take some work to mend your broken relationship. Interpersonal issues don’t have to end your marriage. In fact, if you address the source with love, you will have a greater chance of saving the relationship.
