Distinguishing Facts from Opinions

What is a fact?
Facts are statements that can be proven.
Facts can be true or false.
Facts are not based on personal opinions.
Examples:1. Lionel Messi is from Argentina. (True fact)2. Poland is a European country. (True fact) 3. Cali is the capital of Colombia. (False fact)
What is an opinion?
Opinions are statements that cannot be proven.
Opinions can be argued. You can agree or disagree with another person’s opinion.
Opinions may be supported with facts.
Examples:
1. Football is boring. (You can agree or disagree)
2. Pizza is delicious. (You can agree or disagree)
3. Math is the hardest subject. (You can agree or disagree)
