MOVEMENT.Can bring the biggest difference that we seek for in our lives.
That too, if it’s a movement like
ROTARY.
THREE.Therefore will not be just any number.

Rotary is an international organisation. Everybody cannot become its member.
ANYBODY who is an adult can be a member of a Rotary Club. The only criteria are that of attending Club meetings regularly, doing socially relevant projects and paying the dues in time.
Rotary is only about doing social service.
NO. Rotary was incepted to foster networking among working professionals with the purpose of doing socially relevant work. It has not changed over the years.
Society has various needs and Rotary can try to answer all of them. Therefore it’s not only restricted to serving the poor and the underprivileged.
Rotary is an add on burden to my already hectic professional life.
Rotary helps you to relax. By diverting your mind towards things you ‘want to do’ for the society. Plus, club members become like friends and family thereby making the time spent more enjoyable.
Rules are very relaxed since this is a voluntary organisation.
Rotary demands a lot of my time.
Yes, but only till the extent it doesn’t become disturbing. In fact it has been seen that the more time you spend in Rotary, the more you want to spend more time. The magic of Rotary is that it makes you happy doing ‘more’ things by giving ‘more’ time.
Today there are special Rotary Clubs that even does club meetings online.
Being a Rotary member is costly.
When all good things come with a price tag, Rotary comes with a value tag. Think, how much can you spend to buy happiness, blessings or a smile? These are the value tags of Rotary you gain by paying almost the same as you would have spent on two movie tickets (in a multiplex) per month. Meagre, right?
Annual club dues are an average Rs 9,000/- per head.
Rotary is about big things like improving the world.
If you have to go far, you have to start from here. To improve the world you must first improve yourself. That’s the secret mantra of Rotary. That’s why people become Rotary members and stay Rotary members for their lives!

What is a Rotary E-Club?
Rotary E-clubs are Rotary clubs that meet electronically.
Rotary E-clubs follow the same policies as all Rotary clubs.
The key difference: E-club conducts its weekly meeting on the club’s website. Rather than being physically present at an appointed day and time, members may attend meetings at any time and any day of the week.
As all Rotary clubs do, Rotary e-clubs meet weekly, perform service projects in local and international communities, support The Rotary Foundation, and enjoy fellowship among members.
What is the name of our Rotary E-Club?
ROTARY E-CLUB OF KOLKATA KONNECT
The name of the Club was decided keeping in mind the emotional connect that we have with the city of “Kolkata” and the fact that somewhere from deep within we want to contribute to make Kolkata the city of joy and happiness.

What kind of projects shall we be doing?
Major areas of work shall include:> Youth – schools + colleges/professional institutes + corporate> Senior corporate + entrepreneurs > Emotional areas – city (e.g tourism promotion), environment, women safety> Entertainment
How do we meet?
VIRTUALLY EVERY WEEK IN FACEBOOKMeeting starts: Every Tuesday at 23:00 hoursMeeting ends: Every Friday at 23:00 hours
Members log in at their convenience and contribute by adding suggestions and joining discussions.
PHYSICAL MEETINGThey take place occasionally as per the convenience of the members, but primarily on weekdays evenings.
COMMUNICATION GROUPWe have a Whatsapp group where we share regular updates and information.
I don’t stay in Kolkata. How do I contribute towards the Club?
> Attending the meetings
> Paying the Club dues in time
> Keeping updated through the website
> Planning and organising events/projects in their cities
> Connecting with Rotary Clubs in their cities and plan to work with them
> Keeping in touch with the members
I don’t stay in Kolkata. How do I participate in the meetings?
> Join Rotary Eclub of Kolkata Konnect in Facebook.
> You will be added to the “Club Members” FB group by the admin.
> Meeting invites shall be sent to you every week. Just click and join. Simple.
> You can leave your comments/have as many online discussions during the meeting.
> You can join the meeting on-line through the same chat platform or audio/video chat during the course of the meeting for further contribution.
I stay in Kolkata. Is it therefore mandatory for me to be physically present during the meeting?
> We would encourage. However, you can do just like any out-station members (see previous slide).
That’s the biggest benefit of this being an E-Club!
What are the things I must have to make digital collaboration easier?

> Access to Google Hangout
> LinkedIn account with an elaborate profile
> Mobile phone with Whatsapp
