What would be the audience for your media product?

QUESTION 4

Page 2: Question 4

My audience is :Typically a male aged between 18-30. Work as a skilled/unskilled, low paid worker. Most likely to work in some form of offi ce job.An explorerPassive I came to these conclusions because of their

psychographic grouping, their socio-economic scaling, their jobs, their gender, uses of gratification and age.

MY AUDIENCE

Page 3: Question 4

I said that my audience is likely to be an explorer because their psychographic grouping. The explorer stands for : Energy - autonomy, experience, challenge, new frontiers. Brand choice highlights diff erence, sensation, adventure, indulgence and instant eff ect - the fi rst to try new brands. (Younger - student).

I think that my audience is an explorer type because they like challenges, new frontiers and adventure. Which are all highlighted in my media product, for example the adventure of what the letter means and challenging the audience to understand what it means.

PSYCHOGRAPHIC GROUPING

Page 4: Question 4

I think that my audience will fi t on the C1, C2 scale of the socio-economic because they will be able to relate to the characters as they have similar jobs (offi ce workers, unskilled/skilled yet low paid).

Using characters that are similar to the audience means that they will be able to relate to them and be attracted to the product.

That is why my audience will be C1, C2 and typically working in an offi ce like the characters. Also they will like to unwind from their stressful offi ce job by watching fi lms like mine.

JOBS/SOCIO-ECONOMIC

Page 5: Question 4

The audience is likely to be aged around 18-30 because of the themes exposed in my product. For examples, characters in this age group and discussions similar to those in their age group. Again, this will help them relate to the product as it is something similar to their lives.

They are also males because there are no females in the production so it is a strictly male themed product.

The themes like mystery and tension are also aimed at this age and gender as they are usually associated with young males.

AGE/GENDER

Page 6: Question 4

My audience is likely to be an active audience too because they are not told what the letter is about so they will have to choose how to consume this media and think themselves what the mystery is. This means they are active because they have to choose how to consume this product.

This proves the theory of uses of gratification because it says that the audience chooses how to consume the media, just like my audience will.

USES OF GRATIFICATION

Page 7: Question 4

To conclude, my audience is a lot like the research I conducted originally as they are still the same age, gender, socio-economic and psychographic.

My research helped me to conduct my finished audience because they are very similar. It guided me into how I will shape my fi lm to please my audience and keep them satisfied by relating to them with themes and characters.

I now have an aff ective audience profi le due to this and my work has proven to fi t with it too meaning it is successful and aff ective.

CONCLUSION
