PERSONALITY DEFINITION ETYMOLOGY

It was taken from two Latin words Per and Son which means to sound through . Later, the two words were coined to Persona meaning an actors mask through which the sound of his voice was projected. Traditionally, in Greek plays, the actors wore mask while performing to portray his character.

DEFINITION

It is a sum total of all physical, psychological and emotional attitudes, values, interests and motivational factors.

1. SELF AWARENESS Is the capacity for introspection and the ability to recognize oneself as an individual separate from the environment and other individuals.

Self-awareness (sometimes also referred to as self-knowledge or introspection) is about understanding your own needs, desires, failings, habits, and everything else that makes you tick.

The more you know about yourself, the better you are at adapting life changes that suit your needs6

2. PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL INTELLEGENCE

The ability to manage emotions, including the ability to regulate your own emotions, and the ability to cheer up or calm down another person.

3. ATTITUDE A tendency to respond positively or negatively towards a certain idea, object, person, or situation. Attitude influences an individual's choice of action, and responses to challenges, incentives, and rewards (together called stimuli).

Four major components of attitudeAffective: emotions or feelings. Cognitive: belief or opinions held consciously. Conative: inclination for action. Evaluative: positive or negative response to stimuli.

4. BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION Behavior management, also called behavior modification, attempts to guide and motivate individuals to change their actions or interactions in certain settings.

5. SELF MOTIVATION Self motivation is the ability to satisfy a desire, expectation, or goal without being influenced to do so by another person

People who are self-motivated tend to be more organized, have good time management skills and more self-esteem and confidence

Fundamental of self-motivation is goal setting
