For my senior project I chose to expand my knowledge in marketing practices and business essentials in order to prepare myself for my future career. My project consisted of fundraising by selling homemade cookies with a recipe I created in order to raise money for a mission trip I will be attending this summer. I decided to bake cookies as a fundraising technique because I wanted to be challenged in something I do not do very often. My product consisted of the $200 dollars I earned by selling cookies from a recipe I created. Writing my research paper on the GlobalX organization further educated me in the practices missionaries do in order to fund the worldwide trips they go on, and also prepared me for specific marketing strategies I should take to raise an efficient amount of money. Learning about GlobalX showed me that there is so much more involved in missions then what meets the eye, and fundraising is a huge part in the preparations process for any trip. Choosing baking as my fundraising technique did have a few drawbacks however. Coming up with a recipe and spending a large amount of time attempting to achieve perfection in my cookies was not easy. But within time, I overcame these obstacles.

Dear Judges:

My name is Grace McAdory and after high school I plan to get a four year degree in public relations in hopes to become a communication director for missionary practices.

The topic I chose for my senior project allowed me to develop key components for my future career as a communication director for missionary practices. My desire to pursue a career in this field amplified, and I am pleased to know that I will be doing this for the rest of my life. Essentially, I want to make a difference in the world by spreading God’s love, and that is my ultimate goal for my future.

Completing a senior project is a great preparation for college as well as a good way to help a student discover what they like or dislike in a field they are interested in. I am glad I was required to complete a senior project because of the insight and knowledge I obtained from it. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Grace McAdory
