M-edia language• Language is the code used within the particular

medium to convey messages to the audience.

I-deology &Values• Consists of a set of attitudes, beliefs and values held in

common by a group of people and culturally produced within a community to sustain a way of life.

• G-enre• Identified by the occurrence of distinctive features/conventions

•Representation

• The process whereby the media construct versions of people places and events in images.

•Audience • The group of targeted individuals as the intended consumers of media texts.

Institutions• institutions determine and contain the ideology, structure, content

and distribution of media texts and are involved in the regulation and control of those texts.

Narrative

Allows us to explor how plot/storyline has been put together, and how characters are integral to how the narrative is executed
