iOS iMovie: Add Custom Music to a Trailer

The iMovie app on Ios has few trailer templates for creating your own movie trailer yourself easily in a few minutes. It seems that you can’t add your own

music to this trailer project. By default iMovie force you to use music from the chosen template. But

luckily there is a way to remove that default music track and add your own music to that video.

Launch the iMovie app on your phone.

Choose the project you are working on from Project view. Now from project’s summary page, you have to tap the Export button, then choose Save Video

and your preferred video quality. Your trailer will be stored in camera roll.

Now in iMovie app switch to the Video tap, select the latest

exported video, then tap “menu” button at bottom right and choose

the option “Create Movie”.

After import play the movie for checking problems in the video. You will notice it still playing the audio from the trailer template. Now you have to fix the problem. Select the video or trailer on the timeline. Go to Audio

Tap at bottom and move the slider to the leftmost to mute the audio. Now TAP on the

media ICON to add your own music file to the video.

Now in the Import Media Screen, you have to switch to the Audio tap, and

then select any pre-loaded audio files in Theme Music or Sound Effects. You may also choose any song in iTunes

library.
