Step 1: Establish a Budget

www.BridalMentor.com

You can’t make decisions or sign contracts till you know how much money you are working with.

For a more detailed explanation of your wedding budget, check out the blog I wrote “Wedding Costs: Who Pays For What – The New Normal.”

Step 2: Decide What’s Important

www.BridalMentor.com

Pick 3 things that are most important to you.

Start planning these 3 areas.

Popular priorities:venue, food, decor, flowers, bride’s dress, music, and anything that increases the guests’ experience

Step 3: Mack a Mock Guest List

www.BridalMentor.com

Before you book your venue you need to know how many people to accommodate.

Make a mock guest list.

This list will be people who receive an invitation, but don’t forget not all of them will be able to attend.

Consult with each set of parents to ensure no guests were forgotten.

Step 4: Book Your Venue

www.BridalMentor.com

Even if it’s not on your priority list, you technically don’t have a wedding date till your venue is booked.

Most vendors will need to know your date to send you a contract.

Make sure to check out my blog “The Most Important Clause in your Catering Contract” before you sign on the dotted line.
