Get to know the Rubik’s Cube

Center pieces have only 1 colour and will

not move

Corner pieces have 3 colours and have a

pointy end

Edge pieces have 2 colours

1st layer – the cross

First form a ‘white lily’ around the yellow center. Afterwards, shift the edges down to form a white cross.

1st layer – corners

Find a corner to be inserted into the first layer. Place the corner directly under where it

needs to go and use the following:

2nd layer Your aim is to complete the whole of the second layer. Use the two algorithms shown below to accomplish this.

Insert the edge into the second layer, towards the right side.

Twist the last 4 corners of the cube

Ri Di R D repeat till corner is twisted correctly. Then turn the top layer such that another

corner is at the position shown above and repeat Ri Di R D. Do this till all 4 corners are

solved.
