How to Plant Blackberries in a Container Garden Hi, I'm Patti Moreno the garden girl. I have beenadding fruit to my patio container garden and this is going to be an amazing addition. I am alsogoing to add apache blackberries. The unique thing about apache blackberries is that they'rethornless. So, anytime you go to pick the blackberries, you won't get pricked by any of the thorns. Iordered my apache blackberries from Stark Brothers. They came in a little three-pack. If you plantthese in early spring like let's say April, you'll be able to get a small harvest in June. But since it'safter April, it's already summer time and I'm planting them now, I'm going to have to wait until nextyear for my blackberry harvest but it is going to be worth the wait. So, I'm going to take them andI'm going to plant them in my galvanized container here. I've already put the little drainage holes inthe bottom and I already have a layer of gravel to allow for good drainage as well. I'm going to takeit and place it along my fence line. Now year after year, it's just going to get larger and larger andlarger and produce more and more delicious blackberries. I'm just basically digging a little hole inmy container here and then just clapping the blackberry in and then just lightly covering the top ofthe soil with my potting soil here and it is in. I'm just going to water it thoroughly and then pop italong with my other containers and it's going to look beautiful in my patio container garden like allof my plants do.
