BRIEF
Recognizing the importance of family dining, Lucky Me! through Kainang Pamilya
Mahalaga strives to rekindle the Filipino tradition of family dining as it can help bring
happiness and success to the individual, to the family, or even to the nation.
Filipino families have been known for their sturdy and closely-knit orientation. However,
the various facets of modernization put so much pressure on family solidarity. More
often than not, the lifestyle we lead nowadays take 60%-75% of our time thus leaving
the family with mealtimes as the most natural and practical window to reconnect.
Studies show that families who frequently dine have a stronger relationship among its
members. This is because children who regularly spend time with the family receive
more attention, better guidance and are less likely to engage in socially unwanted and
negative behaviors. After all, what matters more to a child’s life chances is not
prosperous upbringing but rather the warmth of his parents’ nurturance.
