ACCESSING MOODLE ROOMS ONLINEFor Students New to Moodle Rooms.

Download Mozilla Firefox for free if you don’t already have it. To find it you can do a simple Google search for Mozilla Firefox.

Once the Firefox browser is loaded click it just like you would the internet explorer. Once on browser, use the URL address:

portal.chartercollege.edu

Go to: portal.chartercollege.edu and this window appearsSign in using your first initial and last name:

Example= rkelly, and the password you created.

This is your portal home page where you can access your courses among other official college information.

Click the Moodle Rooms link from the list on the left and then click the Moodle Rooms online drop down link. This will take you to a

new screen where you can click Moodle Rooms.

Click in the link in center screen….Moodle Rooms.

Be sure to enable POP-UP’s in your internet options by going to tools and “turn off pop up blockers”. You may see “Options” at upper right of screen depending on your system. You may need

to click on “Options” and click on “Allow Pop Ups.”

This is what your new online Moodle Room screen should look like. Once you click Moodle Rooms you can then access your

course and begin navigating your online courses.

After you have clicked into your class, this page should appear. It is your Topic List Page.

As you click on each of the folders, you will be able to access information necessary to complete your online coursework.

You must complete the “Required: Introductions” on Monday, the first day of the module. Click on the grey box as below.

Read the information in the Discussion Forum, then you will post your response to the forum. Do so by clicking the “Add a new discussion topic” link shown below.

You can type your introductions into the first box or, if you wish, you can type your introductions in a Word Document and upload the document into the second box. When you are done, click on

the “Post to Forum” button.

Return to the Topic List Page and click on the folder for Week 1.

After you click on the Week 1 Folder, this page will appear with all the information needed to complete your Week 1 assignments.

Final Comments• Click on each link. Read everything. Save everything to

flash drives, online storage files or print out what you need.

• Be aware of due dates for posting to the forum, replying to classmates, submitting assignments and completing the quizzes.

• Every Monday, click on the week’s folder for your assignments.

• If you are unsure of how to complete assignments, contact your instructor for clarification. If you need assistance navigating through the online course, contact the Charter College Student Resource Center.
