1. Access to deep levels of passion 2. A framework for accomplishing anything
Looking to take on your own first race?

Simply want more in a particular area of your life?
Apply these 5 Steps & you’ll be well on your way!
5 Easy Steps for Accomplishing Anything in Life
1. Find Your Deepest “Why”
2. Set Limitless Goals
3. Fill Your Bench with Experts
4. Let Go of Control
5. Celebrate Every Win
A Framework for Accomplishing Anything You Can Dream
Step 1: Find Your Deepest "Why"
What
How
*WHY*OUTSIDE IN “Reflex”
It has to start with your heart.
In our instant gratification world where it’s so easy to fall into the trap of external rewards – aesthetics, financial riches, power, status, to have the wherewithal to take on greatness, you have to find your deepest why.
Only WHY gives our heart’s deepest desires a voice.
INSIDE OUT “Purposeful”
**Application of Simon Sinek’s Golden Circle Concept**
Ego Looking good MoneyPower
Start with your heart
What do you believe?
Step 1: Find Your Deepest "Why“ My ExperienceBefore I Found my “Why” to RaceI fell into the trap; it was all about surface level, self serving & external drivers.
What: Training for my first half marathon
How: Joined a run club
Why: I wanted to get in better shape
Result: It was a hamster wheel to nowhere!
Starting with WhyI tapped into my heart’s deepest desires for fueling a bigger purpose
Why: I believe, active living is not only paramount to life balance, but by being physically active I have built a stronger foundation from which to operate in life, and in doing so have an opportunity to inspire others to move through fear into action.
How: I race
What: I swim, bike run a lot… and then, I swim, bike, run some more.
Result: The struggle that would once overcome my will to keep going vanished.
OUTSIDE IN “Reflex”
INSIDE OUT “Purposeful”
Step 2: Set Limitless Goals
Step 2: Set Limitless Goals – My Experience
My Goals Before Racing Came from the body of knowledge, my personal perception, of what I believed possible
One Big Problem: I was limiting myself to things I realized I knew (or could do)
Result: My beliefs about my own abilities were a self limiting constraint
A New Way to Set Goals (after racing)Race after race, I completed physical challenges I never realized possible for myself. Besides feeling Super Human, in all areas of my life I experienced a shift into a new realm of possibility. I began accomplishing things I didn’t realize were ever possible.
Result: New goals, based from my true heart’s desires, not my self perceived awareness of my abilities became possible and are now regular occurrences in my life.
Anything your heart desires is possible, but it has to start with why and include goals: set
limitless goals.
Step 3: Fill Your Bench with Experts
Step 2: Fill Your Bench with Experts – My Experience
Business books agree: find a mentor Racing taught me that mentors aren't enough I want a whole bench of experts & support for all areas in my life with limitless goals
Triathlon may be an individual sport, but no one competes without an army of support.
My Sports Bench
Personal Trainer TRI
Coach
Sports MD Acupuncturist
Race Volunteers Training Buddies
Support Crew i.e. family & friends
My New Work Bench
Mentors Champions Experts Friends Critics Peers Competitors
Step 4: Let Go of Control
Step 4: Let Go of Control- My Experience
Control – we all love to believe we’re in the driver’s seat
Racing taught me that no amount of training, preparation and gear brings any guarantees
On race, Mother Nature holds the card
The more I hoped for perfect weather, the worse it got
White caps Rain & Wind Blistering Sun
One day, the weather was so bad it was laughable. Through the fear of drowning & the absurdity of sticking to a swim practice in near hurricane conditions something magic happened
I let go of all attachments. I gave up on wanting perfect conditions. I let go of my time. I had the most fun swim of my life.
Racing taught me that resistance to circumstance only makes things worse. Find the power of facing circumstance as it comes, let go
of control!
Step 5: Celebrate Every Win
How often in life are we like the racehorse?
Charging full steam ahead towards whatever is next.. the proverbial end goal, bigger-better-more that we race through life wearing
blinders.
Step 5: Celebrate Every Win – My Experience
Yet, in the work world, surveys by the NY Times & Business Week Magazine estimate between 40% – 90% of workers feel underappreciated
In failing to celebrate small wins we undermine productivity & fail each other as human beings
Milestones in racing are abundant - new personal bests, longer distances and of course race metals!
We can’t always drum up more business or increase budget dollars for spending, but we can take a few moments to
celebrate every win!

There will be good days and bad days, and days when it feels like the world is not on your side…
KEEP GOING!
Days will rain when the sun is supposed to shine… KEEP
GOING!
Someone will always have better gear…
KEEP GOING!
Someone will always be faster… KEEP
GOING!
Remember – Nothing is Impossible Impossible… break it down and you’ll see… I’m possible
