Sun and the Solar System
A
Good afternoon! And to everyone present, a warm welcome, especially to the participants of
the Comenius project “Dive in the Sky”, originating from Austria, Bulgaria, Lithuania and
Turkey.
It has come the time for the students in the F class of the 3rd year of Centro Escolar Visconde
de São Gião to present their contribution to the activity being developed here under the
previously mentioned project.
You will recognize a common theme: the sun – you know, that wonderful star that allows the
existence of all life on Earth?
As not to censor the pace and organization of our work, we would like to ask you only to
applaud us (if we do deserve it...) when the indication appears on the screen. You’ll soon
realize what I mean, don’t worry...
We will be presenting in English, so that you, our foreign friends, can understand what it’s all
about.

Solar system - the title of the dramatized script you will attend next. The characters are: the
sun, the main planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune -
the moon, Earth’s natural satellite, and the dwarf planet Pluto, which is no longer considered
a major planet (it was disqualified...).
The theme of our plot revolves around the destruction by humans of the planet Earth and the
fear that some planets feel when they contemplate what may happen to them, despite the
fact that men has never been able to reach there. But the moon, on the other hand, enjoys
when people set foot on her, and as a result, feels sorry when they eventually go...

And now, the students in the F class of the 3rd year of Centro Escolar Visconde de São Gião,
will perform a song entitled "Astro King". They will be accompanied by accordion, played by
Carolina Quitério, a 7th grade student from Escola Manuel Figueiredo.

We’re reaching the end of our presentation...
It is time to give a warm thank you to everyone who so conveniently and willingly helped us in
this odyssey.
We would also like to thank:
- To the English teachers Berta Vale and Isabel Oliveira, who translated the contents on the
screen from Portuguese to English;
- To the retired teacher Clotilde Alves, who helped us test and organize this event;
- To the AEC’s music teacher, Cíndia Ferreira, who gave her time to rehearse the song;
- To professor Acácio Teixeira, who teaches music at Choral Phydellius, for teaching and
rehearsing the music played on the accordion by Carolina Quitério.
- To Carolina Quitério herself, for brightening our participation, whilst sacrificing part of her
holiday to learn and practice the composition;
- To all the staff at the Public Library, who always helped us with sympathy and opened arms
whenever it was needed, and supplied us with the planets of the solar system;
- And last but not least, to all of you who gave us the pleasure of your company and for
applauding us. We hope it was well worth it ... And we do apologize for anything that may
have gone less well. The willingness to do better was there, but the time faded away...
We will now finish with the "Sun Dance ", a choreography that celebrates the existence of the
sun, which for millennia has been worshiped by man as a God.
Boa tarde! Sejam bem-vindos, todos os presentes, principalmente os participantes do projeto
Comenius Dive in the Sky vindos da Áustria, da Bulgária, da Lituânia e da Turquia.
Chegou agora a vez de os alunos da turma 3º F do Centro Escolar Visconde de São Gião
apresentarem a sua contribuição na atividade que aqui tem estado a ser desenvolvida, no
âmbito do projeto referido.
O tema comum a toda a nossa atuação será o Sol, a maravilhosa estrela que permite a
existência de vida na Terra.
Por uma questão de não cortar o ritmo e a organização do nosso trabalho, gostaríamos de vos
pedir que só nos aplaudam (se acharem que merecemos…) quando surgir essa indicação no
ecrã. Logo perceberão…
Na apresentação, além de mim, contamos ainda com uma colega mais crescida, que traduzirá
para inglês o que estiver a ser dito, de modo a tornar-se acessível aos participantes
estrangeiros do projeto Comenius Dive in the Sky.

Sistema solar – é este o título da leitura dramatizada que vai ser apresentada a seguir. As
personagens são: o sol, os planetas principais – Mercúrio, Vénus, Terra, Marte, Júpiter,
Saturno, Urano e Neptuno – e também a Lua, satélite natural da Terra, e o planeta Plutão, que
deixou de ser considerado um planeta principal (foi desclassificado…) e é agora um planeta
anão.
A destruição da Terra pelos humanos e o receio de alguns planetas que lhes aconteça o
mesmo se algum dia o Homem conseguir chegar até eles, é a temática do enredo. Mas a Lua,
por sua vez, gosta de sentir pessoas a lá chegarem e fica com pena quando se vêm embora…

É agora a vez de os alunos da turma 3º F do Centro Escolar Visconde de São Gião
apresentarem uma canção intitulada “Astro Rei”. Serão acompanhados instrumentalmente
pelo acordeão de Carolina Quitério, aluna do 7º ano da Escola Manuel Figueiredo.

E estamos quase a terminar a nossa apresentação…
É tempo de agradecermos às pessoas que com tão boa vontade e disponibilidade nos
ajudaram nesta odisseia.
Agradecemos assim:
- Às professoras de inglês Berta Vale e Isabel Oliveira, que fizeram a tradução de português
para inglês dos conteúdos apresentados no ecrã;
- À professora aposentada Clotilde Alves, que nos ajudou nos ensaios e na organização em
geral;
- À professora de Música das AEC, Cíndia Ferreira, que deu a sua participação no ensaio da
canção;
- Ao professor Acácio Teixeira, professor de Música do Coral Phidellius, que ensinou a música
tocada no acordeão à Carolina Quitério e com ela a ensaiou;
- À própria Carolina Quitério, que abrilhantou a nossa participação, sacrificando parte do
tempo das suas férias para aprender e treinar a composição apresentada;
- A todos os funcionários da Biblioteca Municipal que sempre nos atenderam com simpatia,
nos abriram as portas, sempre que foi necessário, e nos cederam os planetas do sistema solar;
- A todos vós, que nos deram o gosto de aqui estarem presentes e nos aplaudiram. Esperamos
que tenha valido a pena… Pedimos desculpa por qualquer coisa que tenha corrido menos
bem. A boa vontade em fazer melhor era grande, o tempo é que escasseou…
E vamos terminar com a “Dança do Sol”, uma coreografia, que celebra a existência do Sol, que
durante milénios o Homem adorou como um Deus.

EARTH: Ouch!!! Ouch!!!
SUN: What is it, Earth?
EARTH: Oh Sun, there’s something wrong with me. I am feeling some strange
movements in me.
MARS: Strange movements?! You’ve been doing those movements for thousands of
years, just like me, and now you’re saying that they are strange? It’s normal for you to
stay there spinning round and round. Around yourself and around the Sun!
EARTH: My dear friend Mars, don’t be ignorant. It’s not that. And those movements
that you are talking about are the rotation and translation movements that all the
planets in the Sunar system make. That’s not what I’m talking about...
SUN: What are you talking about? Who moves around what? Hey! All the planets
move around me and that’s it! I’m the King Star!
EARTH: Wow! But for a long long time many wise men claimed that I was the centre
of the universe and you all moved around ME!
MERCURY: It was Galileo Galilei who stopped that farce. Today we are aware of the
fact that you are a simple planet, just like us.
SOLAR SYSTEM
EARTH: Mercury! Not like you! I’d like to remind you that only on Earth there are the
necessary conditions for humans and other living creatures to live in – I’ve got water,
oxygen, light... in short, life!
SATURN: Yeah, yeah... Everybody knows me because of my beautiful rings, formed
by rocks and ice. I am considered the most beautiful of all planets!
JUPITER: And I am the biggest! I don’t know why humans chose you to live in, Earth.
I have enough space for everybody. One day, they will discover me... and then, my
dear, bye bye!!!
EARTH: Ahn ahn, I can see the whole picture: they would all die in there!!!
PLUTON: Hey budies! What are you arguing about? I am the youngest of all planets, I
was discovered in 1930 and I’m not worried about human beings. I am grateful that
they don’t even care about me.
URANUS: Oh Pluton, you’re there… Poor thing!... So small, but still so rebel!
PLUTON: Rebel, Uranus? Haven’t you noticed how sick the Earth is? Humans are,
slowly, destroying her!
EARTH: Ouch, ouch!!!
SOLAR SYSTEM
NETPUNE: What now, Earth? Are you going to tell me that humans are at war,
again?? They never stop!!!
EARTH: No, Neptune, it’s not war... It’s something strange... I can’t figure it out...
VENUS: Well, well, well. They are probably destroying more and more forests...
EARTH: Stay still Venus, and don’t jump into conclusions, because it gives me the
creeps when I think about my oxygen, which is in danger!!
PLUTON: Ok, get it?? That’s why I don’t want Mankind in me!!
SUN: Human beings have, in fact, caused a lot of damage to Earth. But it became
much more interesting since the existence of Mankind.
SATURN: That’s true. Before that there was no one to look at the sky and admire our
beauty. And I’m sure that my rings are very much admired!
PLUTON: Saturn, don’t say that! You are so vain! Look at Earth, she looks sick!
Humans are like a virus, a disease.
MARS: You are exaggerating, Pluton! I even get red with so much shame!
PLUTON: No, I’m not, Mars. I’ll keep myself just like this – away from you guys,
especially Earth.
SOLAR SYSTEM
MERCURY: How coward of you! If we leave Pluton out of this discussion, once he is
a teeny-weeny planet, I am the smallest one and I’m not scared. And I am very close
to Earth!!
EARTH: Ouch!!! Ouch!!!
URANUS: Oh no! Here we go again!! King star, what is your opinion about all this?
SUN: Me? All these problems worry me, Uranus. My rays are affecting the Earth
because of the destruction of the ozone layer that protects our friend. I am afraid that
I might hurt her even more…
EARTH: Don’t worry Sun, I am strong and I can defend myself. What I am really
worried about… is Mankind.
PLUTON: What? Are you blind, or what? How can you forgive so much aggression?
EARTH: A good mother always forgives her sons’ mistakes.
NEPTUNE: Hey, Moon! Why are you so quiet? What do you think of all this?
MOON: I am also worried, but I know that I am important to human beings.
EARTH: They love the moon! They say that even for planting and sowing they follow
the moon’s cycle. You are really a great inspiration for poets and people in love.
SOLAR SYSTEM
PLUTON: Yah, big deal! That’s a good way of making them even more curious. That
is worrying!
EARTH: Ouch, ouch, ouch!!!
URANUS: What are humans doing now?!
PLUTON: It’s easy to figure it out! Pollution, intentional fires, soil aggression, animals’
slaughter…
EARTH: That’s really awful! Couldn’t you show just a little optimism?
PLUTON: That’s impossible when you have this kind of predators walking free…
EARTH: Ouch! Ouch! And ouch!!!!
URANUS: Earth, tell us what what you are really feeling. Is it pain?
EARTH: No! It’s not pain this time!
SUN: Hey, listen! What is this noise?
MOON: I don’t know, but it seems really near us.
PLUTON: Huh… I am going to stay still right here…
SOLAR SYSTEM
URANUS: You are a chicken!!
EARTH: Ouch, ouch, ouch!!!
SATURN: Earth, we’re curious! What’s happening in you?
NEPTUNE: Tell us… We’re anxious to know.
EARTH: Humans are…
URANUS: Are what?
EARTH: I don’t know, I think…
VENUS: Speak Earth! Don’t hesitate.
EARTH: Don’t rush me, Morning Star.
VENUS: Don’t call me that! I’ve got a name.
JUPITER: Oh, stop it! Earth, please concentrate!
EARTH: I can’t figure it out. It’s something that has never happened. Ouch, ouch!!
PLUTON: See?... She can’t even recognise her own death, she’s blind.
MARS: Listen!!!
SOLAR SYSTEM
EARTH: I think I know what’s happening!
MERCURY: She knows! She knows! She knows!
MARS: Tell us, Earth! Come on!
VENUS: See… I told you!
SUN: Oh come on, stop crying and tell us what’s going on.
EARTH: It’s just that…
VENUS: Oh no, stop whining and speak up!
SUN: Earth, if you don’t speak and tell us what’s going on I will throw my rays
against you and I will destroy you.
EARTH: Ok, I have to be strong. Humans want to leave me…
ALL: Awe!
SUN: Leave you? How’s that?
EARTH: They are leaving to conquer space.
JUPITER: If it’s not mine… that’s alright!
SOLAR SYSTEM
PLUTON: To conquer space? I hope they don’t come into my place, because I am the
boss here!
MARS: But… is everybody leaving?
EARTH: No, only some astronauts are leaving in a rocket.
ALL: Oh!
SUN: And where are they going to?
EARTH: Where to? I don’t know!!!
ALL: Oh!!!
PLUTON: I’ve got to get out of here, the virus is free. What do I do? Help me!
MARS: Oh come on, calm down. You’re a planet, though you’re tiny, or an asteroid?
PLUTON: Don’t call me an asteroid, you fool! I’m just scared! I’ve lived for so long
without being discovered, and now I am in danger of being invaded by these human
beings.
EARTH: Ouch, ouch, ouch!!!
URANUS: Oh, no, not again!
SOLAR SYSTEM
EARTH: I’ve found out! I’ve found out where they are going to!
MARS: They are looking for me, for sure. I am the biggest planet near Earth.
EARTH: No, Mars! It’s not that! You’re wrong! You’re going in a completely different
direction.
PLUTON: Ouch! I’m about to go into orbit!
NEPTUNE: They came for me! Human beings love my greenish blue colour. They
probably think that I’ve got water and plants, like Earth.
EARTH: No, no. Humans are not looking for other planets.
ALL: Aren’t they?!
EARTH: No.
SUN: Hey, they wouldn’t be so foolish to come and live in me! They couldn’t even get
close to me! They’d become a barbecue!
URANUS: They are not looking for a planet in the Solar system. And they know that
the heat of the sun is unbearable… So, the last option is…
ALL: The moon!!!
SOLAR SYSTEM
MOON: Me?! What do they want from me?
EARTH: I don’t know… But they are heading towards you…
PLUTON: Dear moon! It was so nice to meet you.
JUPITER: You have got to be strong, my friend.
MOON: Ouch, ouch!!!
EARTH: Well, it seems they’ve arrived!
PLUTON: Poor friend! Better you than me!
MOON: What a good feeling! They are tickling me.
MERCURY: It seems that it’s not that bad!
SUN: Tell us, Moon, how do you feel?
MOON: I feel fulfilled and happy!
PLUTON: What do you think? Will humans stay there for a long time? Hum… I think
that it’ll be a short visit. But it’s so exciting!
MOON: Ouch, ouch!!
SOLAR SYSTEM
PLUTON: It was too good to be true! They’re getting ready… No!...
MOON: Hey, wait, humans! Don’t leave!
SUN: Are they leaving?
MOON: Yes, they are. What a pity… I think they didn’t like me.
PLUTON: No, not at all! You are pretty and they love you, but you don’t have the
basic conditions for them to live in you.
MOON: Well, then… I hope they come back one day and stay here much longer.
JUPITER: If they do, it will be a short visit again. I don’t mind if they come here, too.
I’d love to know the feeling.
SATURN: One day, who knows, maybe they come searching for my rings…
MARS: Well, because I am a little red, maybe I’ll call the attention of a Benfica-fan
astronaut (a portuguese football club) …
PLUTON: I am so far away from Earth… that they will never get here! However, as
time goes by, I know that they will get to know me a bit more, through the
observation made by those big strong telescopes and spaceships. They’ll get to
know me and the others, of course!
SOLAR SYSTEM
EARTH: The sky has always attracted the attention and the dreams of Mankind. 150
years ago, on a famous book called “From the Earth to the Moon”, Jules Verne wrote
about a group of men who travelled up to the moon, using a gigantic cannon.
The Russian Yuri Gagarin was the first man to travel to space, in 1961, making an
orbital flight around me. In that famous flight he made a famous statement: “The
Earth is blue”.
On Christmas Eve, in 1968, some American astronauts made the first orbital flight
around the moon and in July 1969, Man stepped onto the moon for the first time. Neil
Armstrong’s sentence became famous: “That’s one small step for a man, one giant
leap for mankind”. Many other steps were taken by Man since then… His ambition
of exploring outer space goes on… How far will He reach? What other new worlds will
he find out? Only the future will tell!...

The legend of
the Sun and
the Moon
A lenda do sol e da lua
When the Sun and the Moon first met they deeply fell in love and from then on they started living a
great, beautiful love story.
The world didn’t exist yet and when God decided to create it gave the Sun and the Moon the final
touch: SHINE.
It was also decided that the Sun would illuminate the day while the Moon would illuminate the night,
although she was using the light provided by the Sun.
This way the Sun and the Moon would have to live apart from each other forever and ever.
They fell into a deep sadness when they understood they would never meet again.
Sorrow grew up in the Moon’s heart and she got more and more lonely.
The Sun, on the other hand, was given a royal title “King Star”. But it also didn’t make him feel happy.
Then God called them and explained: “ You mustn’t feel sad”
Moon, you will illuminate the cold and hot nights, delighting lovers and you will often be a source of
poetry.
And you, Sun, you will keep alive the title of “King Star” because you will be the most important star,
illuminating the Earth during the day providing the human beings with heat. And your simple presence
will make people happier.
The legend of the Sun and the Moon
The moon got sad with her terrible fate and went on crying for many, many days. The Sun, watching
her grief, decided not to fall into depression as he would have to help her beloved Moon so that she
could accept God’s decisions. But the Sun was so deeply worried that he decided to make God a
request:
“Lord, please help the Moon. She’s weaker than me and she won’t stand the loneliness…”
And God, showing his infinite mercy, decided to create the stars so that the moon could get company.
Whenever the Moon feels sad she asks the stars for help and they do everything to make her feel
better, but it usually doesn´t work…
This way Sun and Moon go on living APART.
The Sun pretending he’s happy…
The Moon not being able to hide her sadness…
The Sun’s passion still in fire for the Moon…
And the Moon still living under the shadows of loneliness…
One says that God ordered the Moon to be always full and bright…But she can’t… because she’s a
woman and a woman has phases…
When she’s happy she gets full… But when she’s unhappy she gets thinner and thinner till she
disappears…

Sun and Moon follow their fate…
He goes on lonely, but strong…
She goes on weak, helped by the stars…
Then God decided that in this world no love would be impossible
Not even that one between the Sun and the Moon.
And so God created the ECLIPSE!
Today the Sun and the Moon just live waiting for that moment, those very few moments that they were given
and so rarely happen.
When someone, from now on, is looking at the sky and sees that the Moon is hiding the Sun, he knows that
they are kissing and loving each other.
And that pure act of love is named ECLIPSE
It’s important to remind that their shine during that special act is so glamorous and so strong that you
should stop looking at the sky because you can get blind, watching such a powerful love.
It’s a beautiful love story. It’s a pity it has such an unhappy end. And I don’t really like unhappy ends.
But love is love. It doesn’t matter how far or how long it will take to meet again. What really matters is to
keep the flame and make the fire of passion last forever!

TERRA: Ai, ui, ai, ui !!!
SOL: O que foi Terra?
TERRA: Ai Sol, alguma coisa se está a passar comigo. Estou a sentir alguns
movimentos estranhos em mim.
MARTE: Movimentos estranhos?! Há milhares de anos que fazes esses movimentos, tal como eu, e dizes agora serem estranhos! É normal ficares aí girando, girando,
girando...em torno de ti mesma e do Sol!
TERRA: Meu amigo Marte, não sejas ignorante. Não é nada disso. E esses movimentos de que falas, eu sei, são o movimento de rotação e o movimento de translação que
todos os planetas do sistema solar realizam. Não é disso que eu estou a falar...
SOL: O que estão vocês para aí a dizer? Quem é que gira, onde? Então? Todos giram ao meu redor, e pronto! Sou o Astro Rei!
TERRA: Éna! Mas por muito tempo alguns sábios afirmavam que eu é que era o
Centro do Universo e todos vocês giravam em torno cá da euzinha.
MERCÚRIO: Foi Galileu Galilei que acabou com essa farsa. Hoje sabemos muito bem

TERRA: Mercúrio! Como vocês, não! Ora essa! Não te esqueças que só na Terra é que existem condições para humanos e outros seres vivos, pois tenho água, oxigénio,
luz… enfim, vida!
SATURNO: Pois sim… A mim, todos me conhecem, por causa dos meus lindos anéis, formados por rochas e gelo. Sou considerado o mais belo de todos os planetas!
JÚPITER: E eu sou o maior! Não sei por que razão os humanos te escolheram para viver, Terra. Tenho espaço de sobra para todos. Um dia, ainda me hão-de descobrir
… e então minha querida, by, by !!!
TERRA: Está-se mesmo a ver!...Morriam lá todos!...
PLUTÃO: Ei, companheiros! A que se deve tal disputa? Sou o mais novo dos planetas, fui descoberto em 1930 e não estou preocupado com o ser humano. Dou graças por
não se interessarem por mim.
URANO: Oh Plutão, estás aí? Coitadinho!... Tão pequeno e com tanta rebeldia!
PLUTÃO: Rebeldia, Urano? Será que vocês já notaram como a nossa amiga Terra está
acabadinha? O ser humano, aos poucos, está a destrui-la.
TERRA: Ui, ui, ai, ai, ai...
NETPUNO: O que foi agora, Terra? Vais-me dizer que a humanidade está novamente
em guerra? Nunca mais param com isso!
TERRA: Não Neptuno, não é guerra, não! É algo estranho, não consigo decifrar…
VÊNUS: Ai, Ai, Ai... Vão ver que estão a destruir mais uma floresta.
TERRA: Fica quieta Vénus, não tires conclusões precipitadas que me arrepio só de
pensar que o meu oxigénio está em perigo.
PLUTÃO: Viram só? Por essa razão é que não quero a humanidade dentro de mim!
SOL: O ser humano tem feito muitos disparates, prejudicando grandemente a Terra.
Mas ela tornou-se muito mais interessante desde que é habitada por pessoas.
SATURNO: É verdade. Antes das pessoas existirem, não havia ninguém para olhar
para o céu e nos admirar. E eu sei que os meus anéis são muito admirados!
PLUTÃO: Saturno, não digas isso! Que vaidoso! Olha para a Terra, parece doente! O ser humano é um vírus, uma doença.
MARTE: Que exagero Plutão, chego a ficar vermelho de vergonha.
PLUTÃO: Exagero nada Marte, vou continuar assim, cada vez mais afastado de vocês,
principalmente da Terra.
MERCÚRIO: Que cobardia! Pondo de lado o Plutão, que é um anão, eu sou o mais
pequeno e não tenho medo. E olha que fico mais ou menos pertinho da Terra!!
TERRA: Ai, ai, ui, ui...
URANO: Ih! Começou de novo! Astro rei, o que achas de tudo isto?
SOL: Eu? Tudo isso me preocupa, Úrano. Os meus raios solares estão a afetar a Terra devido à destruição da camada de ozono da nossa companheira. Tenho medo de vir a
magoá-la ainda mais.
TERRA: Não te preocupes Sol, sou forte e sei defender-me. O que me preocupa é o bem-estar da humanidade.
PLUTÃO: O que é isso?! Tu estás cega? Como pode perdoar tanta agressão?
TERRA: Uma boa mãe perdoa sempre os erros dos seus filhos.
NEPTUNO: Ei Lua, por que estás aí tão calada? O que achas de tudo isto?
LUA: Também estou preocupada, mas eu sei que sou importante para o ser humano.
TERRA: Eles adoram a Lua! Dizem que até para fazerem as suas culturas e plantações seguem o seu ciclo. Tu és realmente uma grande inspiradora de poetas e namorados.
PLUTÃO: Grande coisa! Assim desperta a curiosidade deles. Isso é preocupante!
TERRA: Ui, ui, ai, ai...
URANO: O que será que os humanos estão a fazer agora?
PLUTÃO: É muito fácil! Poluição, queimadas, agressões ao solo, matança de
animais...
TERRA: Que horror! Será que não daria para seres um pouquinho otimista?
PLUTÃO: Impossível, com esses predadores à solta.
TERRA: Ai, ai, ui, ui...
URANO: Terra, diz-nos o que realmente estás a sentir. É dor?
TERRA: Não! Desta vez não é dor!
(barulho de foguete)
SOL: Ei ouçam… Que barulho é este?
LUA: Não sei, mas parece perto.
PLUTÃO: Ai, eu vou é ficar quietinho aqui.
URANO: Caguinchas!
TERRA: Ai, ai, ui, ui...
(barulho de foguete)
SATURNO: Terra, estamos curiosos! O que se está a passar em ti?
NEPTUNO: Diz-nos… Estamos ansiosos.
TERRA: O ser humano está...
URANO: Está o quê?
TERRA: Não sei, acho que...
VÊNUS: Fala Terra! Não hesites.
TERRA: Não me apresses, Estrela Dalva.
VÊNUS: Não me chames isso. Eu tenho nome.
JÚPITER: Ora, parem com isso. Terra, concentra-te!
TERRA: Não consigo descobrir, é algo que nunca aconteceu. Ai, ui, ai, ui...
PLUTÃO: Veem, ela não consegue reconhecer a própria morte, está cega. (barulho)
MARTE: Ouçam!!!
TERRA: Acho que sei o que está a acontecer!
MERCÚRIO: Ela sabe! Ela sabe! Ela sabe!
MARTE: Diz-nos Terra! Vá lá!
(Terra chora)
VÊNUS: Viram, eu avisei!
SOL: Ora, para de chorar e diz agora o que se está a passar.
TERRA: É que... (chora)
VÊNUS: Ah não, para de choramingar e fala logo.
SOL: Terra, se não parares de chorar e não disseres o que está a acontecer, eu vou
jogar os meus raios solares em ti e vou destruir-te.
(Terra, para e pensa…)
TERRA: Está bem, tenho de ser forte. Os humanos estão a querer deixar-me.
TODOS: Oh!
SOL: Deixar-te?! Como assim?
TERRA: Estão a ir embora para conquistar o espaço.
JÚPITER: Não sendo o meu, está tudo bem!
PLUTÃO: Conquistar o espaço? Que não venham cá para mim, que aqui ainda mando
eu.
MARTE: Mas toda a gente se está a ir embora?
TERRA: Não, apenas alguns astronautas estão a embarcar num foguete.
TODOS: Oh!
SOL: E para onde vão?
TERRA: Para onde? Não sei!!!
TODOS: Oh!!!
PLUTÃO: Tenho que sair daqui, o vírus está solto. O que faço? Ajudem-me!
MARTE: Ora, acalma-te. Tu és um planeta, ainda que anão, ou um asteroide?
PLUTÃO: Não me chames de asteroide, palerma! Eu só estou com medo! Vivi tanto tempo sem ser descoberto e agora corro o risco de ser invadido por esses seres
humanos.
TERRA: Ai, ui...
URANO: Começou de novo.
TERRA: Descobri, descobri para onde estão a ir!
MARTE: Com certeza, estão à minha procura. Sou o planeta maior próximo da Terra.
TERRA: Não, Marte! Nada disso. Estás errado. Estão a ir noutra direção.
PLUTÃO: Ai, ui, eu vou mas é entrar em órbita!
NEPTUNO: Vieram à minha procura. O ser humano adora a minha cor azul
esverdeado. Se calhar pensa que tenho água e plantas, como a Terra.
TERRA: Não, não. O ser humano não está à procura de outros planetas.
TODOS: Não?!
TERRA: Não.
SOL: Ei, eles não seriam tontos de quererem habitar-me! Não conseguiam chegar
sequer próximo de mim. Viravam churrasco!
URANO: Não estão à procura de nenhum planeta do sistema solar. E eles sabem que
o calor do Sol é insuportável… Portanto só resta...
TODOS: A Lua!!!
LUA: Eu?! O que querem comigo?
TERRA: Não sei, não... Mas estão a ir na tua direção.
PLUTÃO: Querida Lua! Foi tão bom conhecer-te.
JÚPITER: Tens que ser forte, companheira.
(barulho)
LUA: Ai, ui, ai, ui…
TERRA: Pelos vistos já chegaram!
PLUTÃO: Pobre amiga! Antes tu do que eu!
(a Lua começa a rir)
LUA: Que sensação boa! Estão a fazer-me cócegas. (risadas)
MERCÚRIO: Parece que não é tão mau assim!
SOL: Diz-nos Lua, como te sentes?
LUA: Sinto-me preenchida e feliz!
PLUTÃO: Será que os humanos vão ficar aí por ti muito tempo? Hum… Acho que te
farão apenas uma visita. (suspiros) Mas está a ser emocionante!
(barulho de foguete)
LUA: Ai, ui…
PLUTÃO: Era bom demais, para ser verdade! Já colocaram as manguinhas de fora…
Não!...
LUA: Ei, esperem, humanos, não se vão embora!
SOL: Estão-se a ir embora?
LUA: Sim, que pena, acho que não gostaram de mim. (chora)
PLUTÃO: Nada disso! Que ideia! Tu és bonita e adoram-te, mas não tens condições
para seres habitada por eles
LUA: Espero então que voltem um dia e se demorem por cá mais tempo.
JÚPITER: Se for só de visita, também não me importo nada que por aqui passem.
Quero saber qual é a sensação.
SATURNO: Um dia, quem sabe, talvez venham em busca dos meus anéis…
MARTE: Como sou meio vermelho, pode ser que chame a atenção de algum
astronauta benfiquista...
PLUTÃO: Eu estou tão distante da Terra… que nunca mais cá chegam! Mas apesar disso, com o passar dos anos, sei que me irão conhecendo cada vez melhor através da observação realizada com potentíssimos telescópios e com naves espaciais. A mim
e aos outros todos, claro!
TERRA: (dirigindo-se ao público) O céu sempre atraiu a atenção e os sonhos do homem. Já há cerca de 150 anos, numa famosa obra de ficção intitulada "Da Terra à Lua", Júlio Verne escreveu sobre um grupo de homens que viajou até à Lua usando
um gigantesco canhão.
O russo Yuri Gagarin foi o primeiro homem a ir ao espaço, em 1961, fazendo um voo
orbital à minha volta. Neste voo ele disse a famosa frase: "A Terra é azul".
Na noite de Natal de 1968, astronautas americanos realizaram a primeira órbita da Lua e em julho de 1969 o Homem pisou pela primeira vez a Lua. Ficou famosa a frase do astronauta Neil Armstrong: "Um pequeno passo para um homem, um salto
gigantesco para a humanidade".
Muitos mais passos foram dados pelo Homem depois deste… A sua ambição de explorar o espaço continua… Até onde conseguirá ir? Que novos mundos descobrirá?
Só o futuro, só o futuro o dirá!...
