What is CDLS?
• A SLaM service funded by NIHR via BRC
• An Impartial third party service aka an ‘honest broker’
• Enhanced ICT security infrastructure
• Template site for Accredited Safe Haven (ASH) process in Caldicott 2 review
• Based in BRC Nucleus, Mapother House, Maudsley Hospital
• Services: 1) IG; 2) Linkage; 3) Storage; 4) Extraction
What services does CDLS offer?
1) Information Governance support

4) Linked Data Extraction
1) Information Governance (IG)
• Determines all 3 other services
• CDLS Design data flows
• CDLS supports Project Owners with:
o Ethics applications
o Data agreements/contracts
o Data Controller/Caldicott Guardian approval
o HRA CAG s.251 approval (temporarily omits the common law duty of confidentiality for the purpose of linkage)
