Process of recording the seismic waves in Digital form.
It developed in 1963.
It based on binary numbers(0,1).
Multiplexer:It is high speed switch.It connect to each geophone signal and forwed it.It forwed the signals.
Capacitor:It charge by the incoming signals.
Amplifier:It enhance the signals.
A/D converter:It has different combination of standard voltages.It provide the exact voltages combination according to signals.
Formatter:Voltage pulses are converted into control signals.These signals activate the Recorder.
Digital recorder:It record the signals and paste on the magnetic tape.
There are following number systems :
Octal number system
Hexa number system
Binary number system
The base of the octal number system is 8 which is 2^3
i.e 2^3=8

• It is a medium for magnetic recording , made of a thin magnetizable coating on a long, narrow strip of plastic film. •It was developed in Germany, based on magnetic wire recording. •Devices that record and play back audio and video using magnetic tape aretaperecorders and video tape recorders.• A device that stores computer data on magnetic tape is a tape drive.

These systems have poor multi users interfaces.
