Summary

• Open access publishing is growing fast, especially in

Poland

• The reason for this is the increasing quality and

recognition of open access journals

• However, Polish researchers still find it difficult to

obtain funding for fully open access journals

• BioMed Central and SpringerOpen work closely with

authors and organisations to encourage open

access and to make sure we provide the service and

quality they are looking for in publishing
