Unicellular Organisms

• A unicellular organism, also known as a single-celled organism, is an organism that consists of only one cell, unlike a multicellular organism that consists of multiple cells.

Cells throughout an organism can develop in different ways to perform different tasks.

All cells carry the same DNA information but they do not perform the same functions and may not look the same.

The process of a cell becoming a particular type of cell is called cell differentiation.
