Silk Satin Fabric to Weave Gorgeous and Stylish Wedding Gowns
Wedding is a very special time in everyone lives and that is the reason why we all want everything to be
perfect on this special day. There are several things you need to consider to make it just perfect and one
of them is the selection of wedding gown. Wedding gown for bridal is the most considerable aspect
along with her jewellery and other accessories, in addition to the ‘pretty’ factor.
While considering the wedding gown fabrics, cut and styles are the two main points you need to
determine. Furthermore, the season is the another determining element. A designer original full- sleeve,
a line- skirt with high neck and a
chapel train made from a lovely
velvet white colored would
definitely not be the right choice for
a garden wedding theme in May.
Fabrics for bridal gowns are largely
chosen for their weight, texture and
how they flow or cling. Many
designers prefer to choose elegance
and softness that only natural fiber
fabrics can offer. There is no doubt
that silk satin fabric is the most
popular thread used by top
designers these days. This fabric is a
perfect blend of rayon and silk
which results in a wrinkle free and
light in weight fabric. However, it is expensive as compared to another pure silk satin. Silk satin fabric is
an ideal choice for the designer gowns that cling and flow. If a designer is looking for a low sheen silk
fabric, possibly she’d use this shantung silk fabric which has a rough rather nubby texture.
Gauze and films like silks are most widely used to create those gorgeous ballroom skirts and gowns. If
designer is looking for illusion sleeves, chiffon would be the choice for him as it is a lightweight sheer
fabric that because of the alternate weave, has a slight pucker in both directions and giving it a slight
and stretch texture. The reason silk satin fabric is in such demand is because it has a quality of
refinement as it has a sense of elasticity, strength, and resiliency. Basically, the threads of silk- type
materials have been created to be that of density woven silk that creates similar to that of densely
woven silk that creates a gloss. Silk is the most sought after cherished fiber used as wedding gown
fabrics and is also the most expensive type of material.
Apart from silk, brides prefer other fabrics also such as few would like the effect of brocade without the
weight, damask would be her choice for fabric. The best thing is that it is woven with the same raised
and lowered areas, so there would be the white-on-white design and could be easily worn for summer
and spring weddings.
