Smart Meter Installer vacancies

Background

Amey have secured an exciting £120 million of Smart Metering contracts with various energy suppliers We will require 150 Dual Fuel Installers in the North East & Yorkshire over the next 3 years.  We are looking for exceptional candidates with a passion for working with Amey in providing a first class service and delivery of our Smart Meter programme.  Experienced Dual, Gas or Electric qualified installers isn't a given - we are interested in training new starters into the industry. All you need is the drive and commitment in wanting to learn and show positive behavioural attributes.

What is the purpose of this role?This occupation has responsibility for the safe installation, exchange, commissioning and repair of low pressure gas and single phase electrical metering systems. This includes smart, associated communication and monitoring system and the explanation of how these work to the customer.This occupation entails a high level of safety critical activities whilst working in customer properties. Therefore, there is a requirement for a disciplined, responsible and safety conscious approach to work that demonstrates customer service excellence at all times.

What will this role involve?

Installing Smart gas meters in line with company and industry standards Installing Smart electric meters in line with company and industry standards Completing testing in line with industry standards and codes of practice, fully

reinstating appliances after job completion Collecting and depositing meters to/from the designated storage facility Advise customers of the benefits of Smart meters and how their Smart meters

will work Promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with the requirements of the

Health & Safety at Work Act and Meter Operators Code of Practice Agreement

What are we looking for?

A number of highly motivated candidates who can complete a 22-week training course involving theory & practical based assessments which provides you with the Smart Dual Fuel Diploma.

You are employed from day 1 of your training course, receiving a training wage of £300pw. We provide a competitive salary once qualified, including bonus.

Some of the training takes place at our Gateshead College training centre, therefore you must have access to transport. Your travel costs will be reimbursed for the time spent at the College.
