The Land Down Under is a common landing ground for settlers,

offering better living opportunities in every state. Among the most highly

populated location is Victoria, ranking second just between New South

Wales and Queensland, with around 5.8 million residents tallied at the end

June quarter in 2014.

Compared to the statistical data last year, the population in Victoria

increased by 1.9% or around 106 million. Locals made up approximately

25% or a quarter of the whole population in Australia. More than 70% of

this general population in the state lives around the south, mostly in the

capital city of Melbourne.

Even with the smallest geographic area of 227,416 sq. km, or about

the size of Britain, Victoria remains a top choice for people to live in. The

place is a hotspot even for migrants. Reports say that migrants from more

than 200 countries move into the state. About a quarter of the population

was born abroad.

Moderate Climate and Temperature

A reason for the influx of people is

the climate and temperature. The state

experiences temperate or mild climate;

summers, autumns, winters, and springs

are moderately fine. According to the

Bureau of Meteorology, the average

maximum temperature reaches 25°C

during summer and 14°C during winter.

Thriving Economic Status

Victoria offers good opportunities

for business and work. Its primary

products include wool, beef, grain crops,

tobacco, fodder crops, fruit, and

vegetables. In Australia, the state is the

largest producer of mutton, lamb, and

dairy products.

Many of the country’s mining and minerals processing companies are

situated in Melbourne. They have large oil and natural gas fields and

produce amounts of brown coal.

Manufacturing business is booming in the state, as well. About

34% of the manufacturing employees in Australia work in Victoria. Their

manufacturing products include automotive, food processing, textiles,

clothing and footwear, paper, oil refining, petrochemicals, aluminum

smelting, information technology and telecommunications, and aircraft

production.

Easy Access via Different Ways

The southern state of Australia is easily accessible via air, sea, or land.

The Melbourne International Airport operates 24/7 and it’s just around

25kms north of the city’s CBD. The Port of Melbourne, on the other

hand, is among the largest ports in the country, with shipping services

to international major ports.
