Katherine’s Landing

The rich history of the region will

be honoured and celebrated

within Huntlee. Its strong

indigenous heritage, together

with the more recent mining,

agricultural and viticultural

history, will all be woven into

the design fabric of the Town

Centre and four villages.

Huntlee’s first village will be

named Katherine’s Landing,

paying homage to the sister of

the pioneering viticulturist James

Busby and wife of Hunter Valley

wine pioneer, William Kelman.

The origin of viticulture in this

region dates back to 1824, when

John Busby (father of James),

with James and William first

arrived. Together they entered the

pages of Australia’s great history

and helped make the Hunter

Valley one of the most renowned

wine regions in the world.

Huntlee Town Centre

This is an idyllic setting for a

new and master-planned town,

complete with its own centrally

located and bustling Town

Centre. Huntlee will be the new

heart of the Hunter, with its very

own heart in the centre of this

emerging new community.

The very fabric of Huntlee

is reinforced by a series of

residential villages that encircle

the Town Centre. It will be a

vibrant location where people will

come together and experience

everything Huntlee has to offer.
