Location: Council is approximately 2 1/2 hrs north of Boise and 45 minutes from McCall. Hells Canyon is only about an hours drive and you can be in the Hells Canyon Wilderness area in 2 hours. Pretty much a perfect location!

Another major attraction is Hells Canyon National Recreation Area which sees over 500,000 tourists and vacationers a year. Activities: As you can imagine the outdoor activities are endless in each of our four seasons. Mushrooming, berry picking, ATVing, camping, hiking, biking, horse backing, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, boating, and more!

Climate: The elevation at Council is approximately 2900 feet. Snow fall varies, but ranges from about 1-3 feet. Council has some below zero days in the winter and above 100 degrees in the summer, neither extremes last long. Planting can begin about mid-May. Mothers Day is a good time to do tomato's, corn, the touchy crops. Cold crops such as spinach, chard, peas can go in as early as April. By mid-September the nights start bringing frost. It's usually a little different every year and it's always a little of a guessing game.
