Making Companies Clearer
Product video
1 @wikirate Facebook.com/wikirate
What’s the problem?
Companies have a big impact on everyday lives
Affect politics, societies, environments and day to day living
But they are complicated, hard to understand;everything wants something different
What everyone does want though is access to information andclear transparent information about what companies do

The Wikirate Community
Wikirate is working to build a community of citizens united around better, clearer information about what companies are doing( “Making Companies Clearer”)
We call this transparency, building the windows to see what companies are doing and giving both you and companies themselves the tools to share information
3 @wikirate Facebook.com/wikirate
Why Wiki?
As a user-powered platform, anyone can come and read about the company related issues they care most about
The first task of the Wikirate community is to build this knowledge base through describing the activities of companies relative to various topics in articles
4 @wikirate Facebook.com/wikirate
Key concepts
Wikirate involves citizens like yourself contributing to articles which describe the activities of companies relative to various topics
You can browse the site by company, or by topic to view the existing articles and the articles that still need to be written
5 @wikirate Facebook.com/wikirate
Why Rate?
The second part of Wikirate is about quantitative data. This information is vital to drill down and compare how different companies are performing in various ways.
This can be everything from simple numbers like ‘numbers of employees’ up to more complicated concepts like ‘climate change ratings’
6 @wikirate Facebook.com/wikirate
Ensuring data quality
Everything on Wikirate must cite a source
Each source must be broken down into a simple claim, which can be easily verified and its importance is clear
People can discuss, defend and (very soon) vote on claims
Wikirate is not funded by companies (donations only)
Wikirate wants companies to contribute, but through disclosure not vandalism

• Up- and down voting of claims
Ensuring data quality, (poor quality/irrelevant) content is down-voted

Sneak preview: Upcoming features
12
• Multi-lingual support
• Content and company ratings
Multiple language support is important as information doesn’t exist in just one language
For the pieces that do exist in one language (e.g. numbers/ quantitative data) these will be the same universally
@wikirate Facebook.com/wikirate
The vision for the future is for the community to rate not just content, but also companies themselves
