WACREPWATER & CLIMATE RESILIENCE PROGRAMME(WACREP), SOUTH ASIA
SUPPORTING SOUTH ASIAN COUNTRIES TO WITHSTAND THE CLIMATE CHANGE
Global Water Partnership Organization (GWPO), Stochkolm and Global Water Partnership South Asia launched the WACREP to assist Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan & Sri Lanka in Oct 2013.
The Global Programme - Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) and projects to build climate resilience through better water management and WACREP comes under its wings.
The First phase of WACREP will end in March 2015. There are 40 interventions have been planned under the first phase , including regional and national activities .
Collaborations have been formed with the Regional Players such as SAARC & SACEP as well as the UNDP & IWMI to implement some regional activities. .
The national activities are being implemented with the Country Water Partnership with their implementing partners.
Supports to enhance institutional capacity, knowledge sharing and develop partnerships among institutions and stakeholders to integrate water security and climate resilience in development process

Strengthen track 2 diplomacy for better co-operation on climate change resilience.

High-level consultation to improve trans-boundary co-operation among India, Nepal & Bangladesh.

Regional workshop to share lessons on current issues and opportunities in addressing Deltaic Regions in Pakistan, India & Bangladesh.

Initially developed for WACREP and later extend the platform to the
CORE activities as well,
Ownership & responsibility of entered data with individual CWPs
and/or GWP SAS,
