To me this is a bit more 'humans and data bias". Google didn't have enough black people in their training data, and because like no one at Google is black, this may have not come up. Lack of diversity/oversight in (a) selecting test data and (b) ensuring inclusion, are both functions of real-world bias that find their way into algorithms. These algorithms go full circle and eventually replicate the inherent system bias of the system that created it. No black people make a digital product->system learns to be racist->black people's lives are impacted by that digital prodcut

I would consider including the point that the most vulnerable communities often have the least protection from overbearing surveillance systems. Digital rights are human rights, and groups refugees deserve protection from invasive (biometric, etc) systems as anyone else.

"step back"I hear what your saying, but as I mentioned in my presentation, I dont know if we can a) ask people to stop using tech b) slow down the progress by tech companies (and therefore the artificial demand that comes with it).Perhaps "it's time to reclaim our bodies from the machine"
