MOOD BOARD

“Speechless” is the short film I chose

for my analysis.

It really inspires me because, even

though it is a comedy, I think that it

delivers a very powerful message:

“make yourself be heard, even if

others disagree with your opinion

because there may be someone who

shares the same ideas as you.” “Identity” is a social realist short film that criticises societal pressure. It inspired me because of the set. The director chose to film at a school and cast teenagers because they are usually the ones who are pressured the most, by family, friends, teachers and even themselves. It showed the audience that it is good to be different from everyone else and that everyone has something special to offer to the world.

“Plastic” has got elements of

comedy, however it deals with

issues such as insecurity and self-

esteem. What inspired me the most

was the message written on the

poster on the wall. It reads “Be

aware of your dreams; They might

just come true.”

“Post It” is a cliché romantic comedy that really inspired me because it brings out the best in people. I enjoyed watching the juxtaposition between the insecure boy and the confident girl and the development of their relationship throughout the film.

“BOY” is a German short film that discusses issues related to self-identity. This short film shows the struggles of a girl that aspires to be a boy and her mother’s response to what she is going through. Even though there is a narrative, this film is very inspiring because it teaches the audience that you should stay true to yourself and do what makes you happy no matter what other people say.

My dad’s a liar” is an emotional drama that demonstrates the everyday life of a single father. It shows the sacrifices that parents has to make for their children just to make them happy. What I liked the most about this sort film was that his daughter knew exactly what he went through everyday just to make her smile and that made her father suffer because he probably wants what is best for her. When they both cried they showed that family should help each other, even if it is only a smile.
