• Pre home visit was done for each survivors.• Meeting with Family members.• We never provided any cash amount. • We made a deed of agreement as this is non
transferable property.• We provided 3 months salary while starting
the new business.
Follow up
Learning• The model of engaging in an alternative
occupation after a large trauma worked fabulously • Engaging in a relevant training, proper livelihood
support provides them a solid foundation to come out the stress
• Nobody was eager to return to the readymade garment factory initially, but fortunately some of them now joined in garment factory
• Community reintegration with engagement in an alternative occupation played an important role to improve the physical and psychological well-being of Rana Plaza Survivors
