• Big triple A games have been asked to make their games more realistic, With advanced Physics engines and Motion capture, they are now liable to create a more realistic shooting game for example. But it took a long time to get to a stage called “next Gen” due to the problems that you can get caused by the Motion Sensor mainly.The use of motion capture has progressed a lot meaning that instead of glitch Body rigid games, it now gives you a realistic picture.

Problems with Motion capture.

For the most part of motion capture, it has the ability to capture actual movement of the characters. through the use of body actors and body suits, very well there are

just a few disadvantages that come with this though, whilst having realistic motion, it has now made it even harder to use in a game as the skill required could be too

hard for a character, for example fifa, they need all the skills one player can do and have to do it for each player. so from going to fifa 2004 where it was used as body

rigid motion so you could have the basic skill a footballer would have now to having a motion capture in 2014 and doing all separate skills that player has.

Problems with physics.

Movements that do not follow the natural Law of Physics cannot be captured in Motion capture technology, This provides problems for when captured sequence needs to have

added to it, and un-natural movement. for example if there is a certain sequence in a game like call of duty where you have to run jump and barrel roll all at one, it may be

impossible for the actor to do this, therefore the game engineers must perform a natural running motion capture to an un-natural movement and it looks completely different to what

it should actually be.

Problems with facial Motion capture.

Even though there are a lot of things to consider with the body motion capture, facial motion capture is just as difficult as the body motion capture is, the facial motion capture has made less

strides than the body motion capture. the resolution and detail required to create accurate expression nd facial features are far harder and more skilled than those needed for body motion

capture techniques. !

In the game the last of us, created by Naughty Dog Studios, the use of the facial expressions, performed by the body actors as a guide but not as the piece they edit, they create the facial

creatures from scratch. !

The animators said they get to create a far greater detail by adding features and expressions manually frame by frame, so this would take a very long time to make sure that every piece of

detail is correct in each frame. however, motion capture is by far the best way to use for animation in video games.
