Our media product comes in the form of the opening two minutes of what will be a thriller film. We have named the film “Roulette” as a reference to a scene within the opening.

An age rating is the certificate put on films to indicate at what age you are allowed to watch them. For example, in the UK, the ratings include:

U – suitable for everyone. PG – Parental Guidance advised. 12A – Nobody below age 12 without a

parent. 12 – Anyone age 12 or over. 15 - Nobody below age 15. 18 – Nobody below age 18.

Our target audience for our film is most likely to be young people aged 12 and over.

This means our film would likely receive a 12, 12A or possible PG rating if we toned down some of the darker elements.

It is important to have a target audience in mind when creating a media product of any kind because you do not want to receive bad publicity for showing it to young children if the content is inappropriate.
