EU FUNDING STRATEGIC CONSULTANCYThe LIFE+ programme is the EU’s fundinginstrument for the environment.General objectives:1. to contribute to the protection and improvement of the quality of the
environment and to avoid the biodiversity loss.2. to improve the development, implementation and enforcement of Union
environmental and climate policy and legislation.3. to support better environmental and climate governance at all levels,
including better involvement of civil society, NGOs and local actors.4. to support the implementation of the 7th Environment Action

Environment and Resource Efficiency• Water, including the marine environment:

• Resource Efficiency, including soil and forests, and green and circular economy:1.Activities for industrial symbiosis and knowledge transfer. Development of new models for the shift
towards a circular and green economy.2.Soil Thematic Strategy (soil sealing, and improved land use)3.Forest monitoring, information systems, and forest fires prevention.
• Environment and Health, including chemicals and noise:1.Reduction of the chemicals impact and use of chemical monitoring data2.Projects aimed at reducing noise from roads and other transport infrastructures3.Projects aimed at facilitating the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances.
• Air quality and emissions, including urban environment:1.Air quality legislation and the NEC Directive2. Industrial Emissions Directive3.Urban environment
Environmental Governance and Information• Information, communication and awareness raising campaigns• Activities in support of effective control process as well as measures to promote compliance inrelation to Union environmental legislation.

Nature and Biodiversity• Nature:
1.Conservation status of habitats and species, including marine habitats and species, and bird species ofUnion interest.
2.Support of the Natura 2000 network bio-geographical seminars.3.Action frameworks implementation.
• Biodiversity:1.Maintain and enhance ecosystems and their services2.Actions targeting Invasive Alien Species3.Projects targeting threatened species4.Pilot or demonstration projects testing and then implementing Green Infrastructure actions

• Pilot projects a technique or method that has not been appliedor tested before, that offer potential environmental or climateadvantages
• Demonstration projects put into practice, test, evaluate anddisseminate actions, methodologies or approaches that are new orunknown in the specific context of the project
• Best practice projects appropriate, cost-effective and state-of-the-art techniques, methods and approaches taking into accountthe specific context of the project;

IV. TYPE OF PROJECTS
• Integrated projects implementing on a large territorial scale (regional,multi-regional, national or trans-national) environmental or climate plans orstrategies required by specific Union environmental or climate legislation, whileensuring involvement of stakeholders and promoting the coordination withand mobilisation of at least one other relevant Union, national or privatefunding source;
• Technical assistance projects providing, by way of action grants, financialsupport to help applicants prepare integrated projects
• Capacity-building projects providing, by way of action grants, financialsupport to the activities required to build the capacity of Member States(LIFE national or regional contact points)
• Preparatory projects primarily identified by the Commission incooperation with Member States to support specific needs for the developmentand implementation of Union environmental or climate policy andlegislation
• Information, awareness and dissemination projects supportingcommunication, dissemination of information and awareness raising in thefields of the sub-programmes for Environment and Climate Action.
