To benefit from the program, students must have $1 per day to pay for education, food, and clothing. The need for assistance is far greater than Project Mercy currently has the means to support.

The latter concept involves individuals running from classroom to classroom trying to raise as much money as possible in a minute. For silent auctions, some students include services that benefit parents, such as babysitting, snow blowing, and lawn mowing.
