• North Vietnam was victorious over South Vietnam and allied forces.

• The Vietnam War had many long lasting effects on the veterans who fought for America from the 1950-70s.

• The Vietnam War also had dramatic effects on the people living in Vietnam. With North Vietnam the victor, South Vietnam was forced to submit to the communist rule of the North.

•The organization was known as Vietnam Veterans Against the War.

• The Vietnam War was a very costly war.

• It not only affected those in battles, but it also left behind long term effects on people everywhere in the world.

• Many Americans were affected by the war for so many had died and many more were wounded.

• It was an extremely costly war with over 58,000 Americans dead and over 150,000 wounded in battle.

War Power ActThe War Powers Resolution of 1973 is a federal law intended to check the President's power to commit the United States to an armed conflict without the consent of Congress.

Domino TheoryThe domino theory was a reason for war during the 1950-80, promoted at times by the government of the United States, that speculated that if one state in a region came under the influence of communisim, then the surrounding countries would follow in a domino effect.
