The use of graphics is usually used to help back up points with visual demonstrations, often graphs, numbers and figures. It also helps to add interest and a variation of shots, for example this shot has a backdrop of space.

Many presenters cut away to another presenter who has futher information. This is sometimes live. Live news reports help to add believability and credibility to the viewers. The live reporter on the scene often has further more in depth information.
