• Over four thousand students protested against communism, pro-democracy.

• Out of the four thousand, over two thousand were killed.

• The revolt started in April, ended June 3rd

• The students would attempt to starve themselves to prove their point

• Their own version of the statue of liberty was built, as a symbol of the freedom they wanted

• Government didn’t approve of being stood up against, rolled in on June 3rd with tanks, murdering 2,000+
