Biology and life science degree holders earn 70% more with a graduate degree in their discipline; journalism and communication majors only earn 19-25% more. (Source: US News & World Report ) Those with a medical or legal degree will make an average of $4.4 million in their lifetime. Other Ph.D. holders only make $3.4 million.
