DESCRIPTION
In October 2013, the headquarter of Yoshinoya set up a farm near the nuclear power plant in Fukushima in order to take its social responsibility and lower production costs. The farm supplies rice, carrots, onions and other food to Yoshinoya in Japan. The company aims to support city reconstruction after 311 earthquake by employing local farmers. It help to improve the brand image of Yoshinoya. After the announcement from the headquarter of Yoshinoya, a rumor was spread through whatsapp in Hong Kong.The message is about the transit of the radiated food to oversea except local Japan.It makes Hong Kong citizens misunderstand that the stores in Hong Kong would also use the ingredients from Fukushima so that Hong Kong people avoid dining in Yoshinoya, which leads to a serious drop in sales of Yoshinoya Hong Kong. With the rumor,Yoshinoya annonced that radiated food are absolutely not be used among all the stores in Hong Kong. As conscience of the company goal,all ingredients are carefully selected from around the world ,and are comply with the law.Customer,staff and all family can enjoy their meal. However, with the announcement of not using ingredients from Fukushima in Hong Kong, Japanese were angered and thought that it didn't support the reconstruction after earthquake, which will affect the brand image of Yoshinoya.
