2. Insights into slavery

• Writers had to be logged in as members to see the commissions or

respond

• Received a total of 3 pitches and commissioned them

• Writers no longer need to be logged in to view commissions.

• Offered more commissions:

1. An open invitation to pitch on the broad subject of ‘democracy’

2. An In-depth look at the European Union its

future/challenges/change etc.

3. An investigation into Lottery games worldwide

• involved editor of The New European newspaper Matt Kelly

and well known Dutch journalism professor Bart Brouwers

• 13 pitches submitted

• 7 commissioned

• cover EU related topics from banking to innovation

Lottery investigation

• expanded the Gaming the Lottery initiative. That project has

involved more than 40 people from 10 countries

• 8 pitches received, 4 commissioned

• first story published this week10
