Richard Barry Nel has been a journalist and writer in the city of Johannesburg, South Africa since he traveled there at the young age of 25. Having achieved both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in journalism and international communication, he now travels around the world writing about pressing issues in each culture, region, or area that he finds himself in.

Richard Barry Nel graduated with a degree in Journalism before traveling to Johannesburg after college. He’s traveled to many places around the world, but was brought to South Africa by his interest in “The Great Mismatch” that is currently affecting the South African job market. He achieved his Master’s degree in International Communication after landing in Johannesburg and has been writing for a local travel magazine ever since.
