In Memoriam

We mourn the passing of our dear friend and long time AWC member Helen Baker, President and Owner of Golden Valley Transfer.

Helen served as an active board member from 2003-2005 and AWC Treasurer for the 2005-2007 term.

Helen believed one passage that she often said:

“Well behaved women don’t make history.”

Construction Partnering Program An innovative program created by the City of St. Paul to increase contracting opportunities for

minority and women owned businesses in the construction industry. With the financial support of the City of St. Paul, the Association of Women Contractors (AWC) and

Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA) jointly manage the CPP Program. A dozen CPP relationships have been developed, including the following current partnerships.

ScholarshipsSince 2001, the AWC has awarded $49,000.00 in scholarships to young women. This total includes the exciting $10,000.00 we are awarding today.
