NEW JERSEY, September 22, 2013 — Two recent polls found thatGovernor Chris Christie has the best chance of winning re-election in hishome state and is also the top GOP contender for the White Houseversus Hilary Clinton in 2016, according to a Quinnipiac University Pollreleased in Virginia on September 19, 2013 and a Public Policy Pollingsurvey conducted in New Hampshire.
While both polls show Christie as the best-positioned Republican to rivalformer First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton in a runfor President, Christie must first win re-election in his home state thisNovember. His challenger, State Senator Barbara Buono, has beengaining in polls reducing a 40-point lead in July to a 30-point lead inAugust, and to a 24-point lead as of now in September.
While Senator Buono continues her best efforts to win the governorship, her campaign continues to lack the funding and support of the DemocratNational Committee inWashington, DC.
Christie is still ahead in all polls despite the tightening in the polls, andBuono’s recent attack on Christie, holding him responsible for increased

levels of poverty amongst New Jerseyans during his tenure as Governor. What is interesting to note is that the basis of these allegations comesfrom a report produced by New Jersey Legal Services and uses astandard of 250 per cent of the federal poverty level for as a baseline theirreport, instead of 100 percent.
This means that 250 percent of poverty is a family of four making $58,875in annual income as opposed to using 100 per cent of the federal povertylevel which equals $23,550 of annual income for that same family of four.Clearly using 250 per cent of poverty inflates the sample of individualsconsidered as living in poverty, according to this report.
Even with the poverty charges, vetoing gun control laws, disagreeing withrank and file Democrats in the State’s legislature, and buckingconservatives by outlawing conversion therapy for homosexuals, Christiestill leads among likely voters to win re-election in New Jersey thisNovember.
While Christie might be the Republican darling of NJ politics, right now,his fellow Republican, Steve Lonegan, is not, according to several polls .Critics have cited Lonegan’s messaging strategy as part of the reasonvoters have not embraced him in the same way voters have embracedRepublican Christie. Politically, both men have similar positions on issueslike school choice vouchers, preference of a smaller more limitedgovernment, and both men are pro-life.
Lonegan and Christie part company when it comes to delivering theirmessages in a manner that is amenable to New Jersey voters. Christie’shumorous, direct, and common-sense approach is winsome even to manyof his biggest detractors. While Lonegan is also direct, his unrelentingattacks that are sometimes personal attacks, on his political rivals are
seen as too unreasonable to for him elect-able in a state like NJ, where democrats outnumberRepublicans by four-to-one.

I see someone, whether libtards or the establishment on our side, are still trying to laydown "inevitability" markers. This is how it happens. You just keep releasing polls withthe guy in first place, and pretty soon everyone is here saying "yeah, well, his views onguns sort of evolved and, besides, electability; oh, and just because, shut up."

Just what we need another "squishy" republican presidental hopeful. We need a trueConstitutional Consertive Candidate not these moderates that the GOP hopes willsway democrat voters. Totalitarian voters ( I refuse to call them liberals ) have blinderson and will ALWAYS do what they are told, and that will be to vote for the SocialistParty candidate who thinly clings to the outmoded name of " The Democrat PartyPresidental Candidate".

Under Chris Chrisitie property taxes have increased by 19% - greater than underCorzine. He implemented Corzine's toll increase plan and diverted the money. He hasincreased the state debt by 25%. Christie's current budget in bigger than Corzine'slast budget. Unemployment is sky high and the economy sucks. Throughout hiscareer, Chrisite has flip-flopped on gun control and abortion. Christie has also saidthat it is not a crime to be in the USA illegally. Sounds more like a Democrat to me.
