Mothers Will Gather to Protest DA Seth Williams’ Attack on the Mother of Darrin Manning

Philadelphia, PA – July 24, 2014 – At his press conference announcing the findings of the grand jury in the Darrin Manning case, District Attorney Seth Williams said the 16-year-old honor student’s distrust of Philadelphia police officers is “based on the way he was raised.” It is outrageous the District Attorney would smear a black mother as he continues to shield the police. The black community’s distrust of police officers is evidence-based and rooted in the Philadelphia Police Department’s 40-year record of misconduct, excessive use of force, and practice or pattern of illegal investigatory stops.
