Current status of nuclear capacity of INDIA

• Total electricity production – 1,45,000 MW By using Nuclear energy:• Expected 7-9 percent of total electricity

production• Current production :3-4 percent of total

electricity generation• Expected to achieve 25% of electricity

generation through nuclear energy by 2050.

technology and fuel from NSG ~Less pollution~Strong business tie-ups with the US~Global recognition

Disadvantages of the deal to India:•Estimated expenditure:

– For 20,000 MW production – 4 lac crores– Per unit cost: Rs 5.50

•The deal is not ratified by Indian Parliament.•Insecure transportation, •Logistics management implementation

• More discussion is needed on this treaty

• Our R&D work will be slowed

• More understanding and consent of all sectors should have been taken

• What is the procedure to use energy waste?
