Happening???

•Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 takes off at

12:21am local time from Kuala Lumpur with 227

passengers and 12 crew members on board.

•The jetliner was supposed to land in Beijing at

6:30am.

•Malaysia Airline loses contact with the passenger

jet within two hours of take-off and the plane is

declared missing 90 minutes later when it failed to

report in Chinese airspace.

•The Malaysia Airline jet had

the last contact with air

traffic controllers 120

nautical miles off the east

coast of the Malaysian town

of Kota Bharu.

•As people across the world

hope for a miracle, the search

ships fail to find any clue of

flight MH370's whereabouts.

Malaysian Airline System (MAS) is the flag carrier of Malaysia. Malaysia Airlines (MAS) operates flights from its home base, Kuala Lumpur International Airport and with a secondary hub in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

•In 1987, Malaysia Airlines commenced operations

after the airline changed its name from Malaysian

Airline System.

•The airline began in 1947 as Malayan Airways,

being renamed Malaysian Airways after Malaysia

gained independence.

•After that, it changed its name once more

to Malaysia-Singapore Airlines and thereafter ceased

its operation.
