On the morning of September 11th, 2001 America experienced one of the greatest tragedies in its history. Americas had fallen victim to a terrorist attack and more then three thousand people ended up losing their lives that morning. Two planes had hit each one of the Twin Towers in New York City, one plane hit the Pentagon, and the last plane went down in a Pennsylvania field.

8:46 am the first plane hits the North tower

A second plane hit the South tower at 9:03 am

United Flight 93 was overthrown by its passengers and ended up in a Pennsylvania field; it never made it to its destination. There were no survivors and the plane incinerated on impact.

A third plane hit the pentagon at 9:37 am

Countries reaction to 9/11

Almost 10 years after the initial attacks on 9/11 the master mind behind it all was brought to justice. Osama Bin Laden was killed on April 29th , 2011 by a Navy Seal team in Pakistan. He was living with his three wives and his children in a compound.

Public Enemy #1 is No Longer

The Statue of Liberty was standing so proudAs God and Freedom were singing out loud

The Native New Yorkers were beginning to enterThe Twin Towers called The World Trade CenterThey went to their jobs and they worked with prideOn this day when a part of America died

The people of Boston were also at workFor responsibilities they never would shirkThe traffic was brutal as it is every mornBut each day they brave it for the show must go on

Now Downtown was open Logan Airport was tooAs people boarded their flights they did not have a clueThe Terrorists were sitting right there by their sideOn this day when a part of America died

red]Now at 8:46, the whole world was in shockFor there was an explosion that shook the whole blockAnd downtown Manhattan was like a war zoneFor these Terrorists attacked us right in our own home

As the planes hit The Towers there was a terrible fireThe people were screaming as the flames grew higherBut through this disaster they still showed their prideOn this day when a part of America died

Although September Eleventh brought death and dismayWe all banded together in The U.S. of A
